  1. Thanks for the chance to win what looks like a great book! I must say the most interesting journey of my life is motherhood!

  2. My most interesting journey has been the last year and a half. I have been lost for so long and I didn't grow up going to church regularly. I started going to my then-fiances church in May 2007 and finally started to feel like a new person. I was baptized July 2008 and have been closer to God than ever!

  3. I would love to win a copy of your book. My email address is caribousmom (at) gmail (dot) com

The most interesting journey of my life was traveling the very bumpy road through divorce and coming out the other side to discover that I was much stronger than I had thought, and there was a plan for my life after all. I had lost my faith and then re-discovered it. I look back now and realize that although painful, that journey has defined who I am and my relationship with God more than almost any other event in my life.

  4. Hello Eric. Congratulations on your blog.

As far as the most interesting journey of my life goes I am actually having problems with coming up with an answer.
On one hand I want to say thet my life is my most interesting journey but I have many days when I do not appreciate it as I should.
I am actually struggling spiritually, more than I perhaps had benn ever before. I hope that the spiritual path will become my most interesting journey.

  6. Very generous giveaway. Well I don't live a very intersting life haha. The most intersting journey of my life would probably be geting married young and going through a divorce, it thought me so much and make me realize how strong of a person I am even though I doubted it for along time. Thanks for entering me.

  7. The most interesting journey of my life so far has been running from my roots to find what I thought would make me happy, only to watch God lead me right back to my roots to find the joy I had overlooked all along. Lesson: Keep it simple. vivschaff@aol.com

  8. My most interesting journey: I've had many that are interesting: my marriage, children, education, career. However, my most interesting journey is my path to the Divine. I measure my life in terms of my distance from God. When I approach God, I feel acceptance and purpose to my life. When I draw away, nothing makes sense and I lose all hope. The journey to the Divine doesn't make life easier; it makes us recognize perspective. We live for a brief time on this earth and then God takes us back again, where we will understand all that has been revealed. I can detach myself from the worries that surround me because I know that this world is just one step in the greater path toward knowledge of the true Self.

This may come out as new age bunk, but I honestly believe this!

  9. One of the most interesting journeys of my life is the journey I had overseas. When I was 10 I moved with my family to Hong Kong where my parents worked for a publishing company, started a church, and worked as missionaries. This was an incredible journey full of amazing experiences, both good and bad. I met people and saw places I would have never had the opportunity to visit otherwise. I went fishing with an authentic Chinese fisherman, visited an amazing ice festival, walked on the Great Wal of China, as well as so many other truly remarkable things. This 5 year journey was one that made me who I am today. Without those experiences and opportunities I would not have ever grown in to the person I've become, let alone met the man of my dreams (I met him while living there.) who I have now been married to for nearly 10 years and with whom I have two beautiful little girls.

I'd love to read your book. Thanks for the entry.

  10. I think your book sounds interesting, and would love to win a copy. So far, I have to say the most interesting journey of my life has been motherhood, specifically the way my children came into my life. My 3 biological kids came in the form of teensy tiny babies, who swam even in preemie clothes. I found my youngest through adoption, which has been a challenging and rewarding journey that has only just begun.

  11. I am in the midst of few interesting journeys: discovering myself and my unique voice as a writer in a new media (Wise Bread); raising children through their 'tween and 'teen years; and rediscovering my passion for riding my bike. I know the last one sounds odd but it has been an interesting trip: I thought I was settling in for mid-life but have instead have been finding new adventures. Finding riding buddies has been a challenge but I have met new people and gotten to know others who may have been just acquaintances before. I have pushed myself to finish a century-plus ride in a day, encouraged others who were unsure of their endurance, and been helped by another just because I was a teammate. All the while I have remembered the days when I rode and rode just for fun, and for the pleasure of getting from one point to another (to school, a friend's house, or work). I have also had the chance to set goals that help me compete against myself.

  12. The most interesting journey of my life has been the journey I've been on dealing with AIDS. I found out I was positive in October of 2001 and my life since then has gone in directions I never expected it to go. It has actually opened up opportunities and allowed me to meet people that I never would have before.

  18. My most interesting journey has been as a mother to a child with Type 1 diabetes. My son was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes when he was 3 years old. Type 1 diabetes mainly means your pancreas no longer makes insulin so he must inject insulin several times a day in order to live. Not only that but he pricks his finger at least 10 times a day to check his blood level. He's always at risk for high and low blood sugars. Anyway, to get on with my story....When he was diagnosed my first question to God was "Why my son? Why not me?" Over the last three years I've struggled with God's plan in all of this. I've struggled with why God saw fit to give this disease to my son and why God thought I was strong enough to handle it all. But, also over the last three years I have seen God's hand in my life over and over again. I know without a doubt that there is no way I could have made it without God's love and guidance. Even though my son's diagnosis has been hard for me it has brought me closer to God. (pennylane5001@yahoo.com)

  19. We love hiking and this looks like an awesome devotional! My most interesting journey for me would be being a mom too like many of the others have said. I think back to when I became a mom and who I am now and they are two different people! I'm even more excited about the mom I will be in 10 more years! Hopefully, better in all areas of motherhood!

  22. I guess the most interesting journey of my life came when I was in high school when I unexpectedly became ill. I was in and out of hospitals for over 2 years with varous ailments as it seemed one thing kept leading to another. I went from doctor to doctor with each finding something new. It was a struggle for both me and my family to make it through each new diagnosis and treatment. It was also during that time that my grandmother was diagnosed with cancer...another health crisis my family had to deal with.

I learned a lot about myself during that time as I struggled with patience and wondering what was wrong with me and I have to confess that the question "Why me?" popped into my head on more than one occassion. My family was definitely my source of strength and inspiration...especially my grandmother who bravely battled, but lost her fight with cancer. Every time I wanted to give up or curl up into a ball and cry, I thought of her and what she was also dealing with.

I learned a lot about myself and what I am capable of withstanding during that time. When I wanted to give up, my faith and belief that there is a purpose for everything and everyone kept me going. I am stronger for all that I went through. Now I am relatively healthy with nothing major (other than severe debilitating migraines and a few minor things) to deal with, but I'd like to believe that if I were ever tested like that again, I'd be able to handle it.

Thanks for letting me share and for reminding me of this journey I experienced as it has served as a reminder that I can make it through anything...something I needed to know and believe again.

While I agree that motherhood has been quite the journey I also think my mission trip to Siberia ranks up there as well. During my time in Russia, God confronted me with many things. I was away from any technology or contact to the outside (USA) world for two weeks. During those two weeks my team and I became lost in Siberia in the Syanne Mountain range. I had to give up all I knew and totally rely on God - I had nothing else but him during those times. While I longed to hear my husband ad son's voice, God comforted me. Through this experience I realized many things about myself. it definitely was one amazing journey!!

  25. I think it's been getting through the last year with the loss of my dad and my two in-laws. I also had to let go of some anger I was holding towards my brother. It was deserved but I just needed to forgive and move on. It was a really difficult year and put a lot of priorities in order for me. Thank God for being there through it all. God won't put you through what he can't pull you through. :)

This reminds me of a note from a Chinese tomb, "May you have an interesting life". I'd actually prefer a more boring one. "Interesting" seem like a curse sometimes. However, my most interesting journey in life is motherhood and wifehood. It has everything in it to keep a life from turning boring and monotonous. I'd like to grow old with my husband and watch our grandchildren when they come. I'd like our children to grow up into mature, responsible, lving, and successful adults. I believe that one of the most important rules I have in life is to grow my children into admirable adults.

  56. My most interesting, amazing and surprising journey began over 15 years ago when God called an over 40 (now over 50)year old mom (now grandmom) into youth ministry. My life was settled - two children, serving in comfortable children's ministry -- dreaming of leading a predictable life. But God had another idea!!!! He called me to a journey filled with tears, laughter, wonder, joy, heartache, surprises and unpredictability!!!! He revealed Himself to me in ways I never could have imagined -- in the faces of 11, 12 and 13 year olds and their crazy life-journies. He worked in and through me -- and still does. I can't thank Him enough for chosing the perfect service-journey for me.

  68. The most interesting journey of my life was when my dad took up the position of youth pastor at a new church. I had to leave the church I had gone to all of my life. We were there for a year before my dad decided to step down; it was a very trying year. The church was 45 minutes away from where we currently lived and it was a hard commute. On Sundays my family stayed at the church all day to save gas. The preaching there was so different from what I was used to, the people were different too. Though given the choice, I may have decided to not go through that, I'm glad I did. It brought me much closer to God and I'm very thankful for that.
